I am finally figuring out just how hard it is to stay focused while doing all of my schoolwork at home on top of my final product. However I believe this to be my final obstacle to overcome through my process, as I have been able to begin animating! I called my mentor on Thursday and was able to get an overview of how the animation process will work out. I learned that the first and most important part of a character’s animation is their idle motion. It reflects a lot on the character’s personality and needs a strong identifiable silhouette. This pose is also very important, because every other action needs to fall back into the idle to create flow in the character. During my meeting Mr. Barsoum and I made a quick pose to compare to each other and they were surprisingly similar, so I am confident I will have no problem getting the animation done. I want to have fun with animating Crystal and be as creative as I can with her actions. This week I need to create more time for my project in my homeschool schedule, and to do this I must work on getting my other assignments in without being distracted. I am very excited to keep working on the animation portions and the first step is getting a strong idle pose.
