It was released this week that school would be cancelled for the rest of the semester, which wasn't a surprise, but it means that Final Presentation Night will be canceled. I am very disappointed that I will not be able to show off what I have been working on for the year to the people I know, but honestly I am also a little relieved because public speaking is not my forte. I will not let this get in the way of my project though, but with april speeding quickly I will have to drop the plan to put my animations into a game engine, because I just do not have the time. I may probably do that on my own time in the summer, but for now I am focusing on the animations. This week I cleaned up my idle to make it a lot smoother and incorporate more follow through. I lessened the amount of some of the actions such as the head bobbing and the arm movements to make it look more realistic for an idle. Understanding the graph editor better from what I learned last week has helped me with my animation, and I am able to get a very nice flow. This upcoming week I am planning to begin the next action, which will most likely be a walk cycle or an attack. As the ISM year is coming to a close, there is still the growing question of what I will do next year. I am considering focusing more time on animations that will be more film focused, but I may chose a different topic entirely. This year was a good chance to get a taste of every part of animation, and now I can focus more on one because I can get the other processes done quicker now. This is still a lot to think about, but being stuck at home gives me time to consider my options.
